Five lifestyle aspects that may also help prevent dementia

February 6, 2024 – People who lead healthy lifestyles could also be more resilient to brain changes that could cause dementia symptoms, in comparison with individuals with the identical brain changes who lack healthy habits in five key areas, a significant recent study shows.

The study is especially compelling since the researchers examined people's brains after death. They searched for Alzheimer's-related brain changes called beta-amyloid burden, phosphorylated tau tangles and problems related to blood flow to the brain.
