Beyond the 5 phases of the WebMD survey methodology

July 11, 2019 – WebMD's survey was accomplished May 16-19, 2019, by 1,084 respondents from AmeriSpeak, a probability-based panel designed to represent the U.S. household population. The margin of error for a 50% statistic is +/- 2.98 percentage points at a 95% confidence level for your entire sample of 1,084 respondents. Statistics for subgroups of the sample have larger margins of error, as do statistics above or below 50%. Most questions within the survey were answered by a subset of 780 (weighted 755) respondents who had experienced a bereavement event previously 3 years.

AmeriSpeak is funded and operated by NORC on the University of Chicago. It is a probability-based panel designed to represent the U.S. household population. Randomly chosen U.S. households are chosen from the NORC National Sample Frame with a known nonzero probability after which contacted by U.S. mail, email, telephone, and by field interviewers (in person). AmeriSpeak panelists take part in NORC studies or studies conducted by NORC on behalf of presidency agencies, academic researchers, and media and business organizations. NORC on the University of Chicago is an independent research organization.
